Academies

The Academy concept of pre-employment training offered by WDI focuses on assisting students who are interested in entering or moving up the career ladder.

WDI offers Academies that prepare people for career entry in either healthcare, manufacturing, or renewable energy.

Healthcare Academy

Learn current and in-demand skills specific to the healthcare field including terminology and Certified Nursing Assistant coursework. Participants will explore the opportunities that exist and receive guidance on entering the healthcare workplace.

Manufacturing Academy

Manufacturing Academies are not offered at this time.

Renewable Energy Academy

Southeast Minnesota is home to a growing renewable energy industry. This Albert Lea-based Academy will discuss trends and review needed skills for work in the renewable energy field. Terminology, basic math and safety training are some of the topics covered to prepare you for this growing field.
