WDI offers youth and young adults a variety of activities focused on life and work skills as well as career preparation. Our services and philosophy revolve around two basic concerns for youth and young adults:
- Completing high school (or the equivalent) coursework and
- Aligning their skills and interests with meaningful employment.
Our professional Career counselors listen to your needs and understand each person is an individual. We believe that everyone can reach his or her goals.
- Subsidized employment
- Personal and/or career mentoring
- Career exploration/planning
- GED preparation
- College-based training
- Life skills
- Job Search, resume development and interviewing skills
We also offer hands-on instruction to help youth and young adults develop work-related skills including:
- Time management
- Resource management
- Leadership development
Program funding provides additional dollars towards jobs for youth and young adults in our area. This funding provides an opportunity for youth and young adults to connect and experience education and training necessary to enter and advance in the workforce, all while earning income and gaining work experience.
